ABOUT LADYFEST

Celebrating female-fueled music on Martha's Vineyard

LADYFEST is an annual music festival in Oak Bluffs, MA on the island of Martha’s Vineyard. It was co-founded by Rose Guerin and Kelly Feirtag in 2017, with special assistance by The Ritz Cafe owner, Larkin Stallings.

LADYFEST raises awareness and funds for CONNECT TO END VIOLENCE, a dual domestic violence program and rape crisis center on Martha’s Vineyard.

The event features artists from many genres including rock, soul, electronic, and pop.  Artisans and food vendors line the venue selling food, jewelry, clothing, artwork, and more.

FAQ

Can anyone go to LADYFEST?

  • YES.  LADYFEST MV is for everyone who wants to hear great music, shop local artisans, and eat local food.

But, can men go to LADYFEST MV?

  • YES, men are involved too! Please don't ask us if wearing a dress gets you in for free.  Please dress however you feel most comfortable :)

What time does it start and end?

  • Gates opens to the public at 2:00PM and we end at 9:00PM.  Please check our festival lineup page for updated schedule as it is confirmed - Coming Soon!

Can I get back in if I leave?

  • Yep! You'll receive a LADYFEST MV bracelet so you can come and go.

Will there be alcohol?

  • Yes!  We're building a "mini Ritz" inside the parks fenced in area where you can purchase and consume non- alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, but please stay within the fencing so that we can keep LADYFEST MV going! No outside beverages (except for small children) will be permitted.

LADYFEST MV was always free with a suggested donation. Why is a ticket required now?

  • In the past, LADYFEST MV has been held on a public street. While we loved having the event on Circuit Ave., it came with some issues that were just unsolvable.  In addition, we never want to hinder a business's ability to operate as usual. Since we've decided to move the venue, that comes with fees so we need to ensure we cover those costs to continue giving CONNECT to End Violence as much financial support as we can. We are dedicated to keep costs low so that we can remain a community event. We know times are tough and we are so grateful for the support this community has shown us. There is no perfect venue on the island, but we are committed to keeping this event in Oak Bluffs, where LADYFEST MV was founded in 2017.  With moving the festival to a public park, we'll need to pay heavier fees and because we're building a one day venue from the ground up, we'll need to bring in more professional equipment. We hope you understand!

  • We're excited to offer a limited number of lower priced General Admission tickets until August 31st! We're offering these lower priced tickets in hopes that it's easier for everyone to attend, regardless of economic status. If you are able to, we ask that you purchase the regular priced GA tickets and save these for our lower income guests.

Will there be public restrooms?

  • For sure! There will be plenty of port-a-potties surrounding the venue.

Will there be parking?

  • Unfortunately, we aren't able to provide parking, but there will be plenty of parking in OB in October. Plus, we encourage everyone to use our beloved public transportation on the island. We love the VTA!

How are you planning to keep festival-goers safe during the festival?

  • We partner with the Oak Bluffs Police Department and Oak Bluffs Fire Department to ensure all festival-goers are safe and able to enjoy the show. We also will have the incredible RITZ security team on hand :)

Are children welcome?

  • Absolutely!  We have activities for children, as well as performances by Island Hip Hop! Children under 12 are free :)

What is prohibited at LADYFEST MV?
