
CONNECT to End Violence, a dual domestic violence program and rape crisis center, provides free and confidential services to individuals who have experienced or witnessed domestic or sexual violence as well as loved ones, friends, acquaintances or coworkers who may also be impacted. Our services are available to all genders, abilities, sexual orientations, ethnicity, demographics etc. All services, including bilingual, are available on a walk-in basis, or by appointment.

The mission of CONNECT to End Violence is to reduce domestic and sexual violence on Martha’s Vineyard by changing the social norms through education, advocacy, and community mobilization, and providing crisis intervention services including advocacy, counseling, and support services for victims.

CONNECT’s 24/7 Crisis Hotline: 508-696-SAFE (7233). Trained domestic violence and rape crisis counselors are available 24/7 and 365 days a year. They provide immediate response to any physical or emotional crisis as a result of domestic and/or sexual violence.

2024 SNAPSHOT
-
The 24/7 crisis hotline, which is staffed by 4 direct service trained domestic violence and rape crisis counselors, received over 375 crisis calls.
-
Of those calls, 75% were related to domestic violence with 25% sexual assault related.

Over 225 (unduplicated) survivors were provided services - this includes counseling and advocacy in the courts, police station and hospital.

Of these survivors served, 16% were children who have witnessed domestic violence in the home or have experienced sexual assault.

Of these survivors, 24% identified Brazilian Portuguese as their primary language.

Of these survivors, 27% were supported through criminal case proceedings and seeking help through abuse protection orders.

Donations supported stabilizing efforts to address immediate safety needs and resources to help survivors live a life free from violence away from their abusive partner through:

Over 400 instances of providing stabilization support to survivors

299 Gift cards were provided to survivors for food, gas, bus passes, steamship trips, and other basic needs

Housing support through rental and mortgage payments

Relocation costs were provided in 24 instances to support survivors feeling from violent situations through van rentals, storage, transportation, etc to ensure safe passage and settlement.​​​​​​​​​
