ABOUT LADYFEST
Celebrating female-fueled music on Martha's Vineyard
LADYFEST is an annual music festival in Oak Bluffs, MA on the island of Martha’s Vineyard. It was co-founded by Rose Guerin and Kelly Feirtag in 2017, with special assistance by The Ritz Cafe owner, Larkin Stallings.
LADYFEST raises awareness and funds for CONNECT TO END VIOLENCE, a dual domestic violence program and rape crisis center on Martha’s Vineyard.
The event features artists from many genres including rock, soul, electronic, and pop. Artisans and food vendors line the venue selling food, jewelry, clothing, artwork, and more.

LADYFEST MV was always free with a suggested donation. Why is a ticket required now?
You may have heard some rumblings that LADYFEST MV is back. Well, we are AND we’re much bigger. We decided to take 2024 off due to a couple of things, mainly because we had a few issues with the location, our beloved Circuit Ave, and we needed a minute to reassess. We started building this festival inside The Ritz Cafe in 2017 and then moved it onto the street. Over the last few years of having multiple stages, vendors, food, and a new streetscape - we’d experienced some growing pains and we just couldn’t make it work the way it should.
We’d been racking our brains trying to come up with a solution and nothing seemed to make sense. While we loved having the event on Circuit Avenue, it came with some issues that were just unsolvable (traffic, a small handful of outspoken business owners, etc.) The opportunity to really grow this thing came to us unexpectedly and the next natural step was to move it to an open park and give it the respect it deserves. All of this in the name of raising awareness and money for a vital island program.
SO, this comes with another big change - our first year being a ticketed event. With the price of admission, you get to see an incredible show with an amazing headliner, along with dozens of world-class local Martha’s Vineyard musicians. Our headliner will be announced and ticket sales will go live on AUGUST 11th at 9AM on our website.
Since we've decided to move to Waban Alley Park, that comes with higher costs such as building a whole venue in an empty field. We need to ensure we can cover those costs while continuing to give CONNECT to End Violence as much financial support as we can. We are dedicated to keeping costs low so that we can remain a community event. We know times are tough and we are so grateful for the support this community has shown us. There is no perfect venue on the island, but we are committed to keeping this event in Oak Bluffs, where LADYFEST MV was founded in 2017. As a result, we are sure this year will be the best yet, with the most money raised for CONNECT and an incredible show.
Our island community’s support over the years has meant so much to us. We are able to offer a limited number of lower priced General Admission tickets until August 31st. We're offering these tickets to hopefully make it easier to attend. We know times are tough, and we deeply appreciate you choosing to spend your dollars to support CONNECT to End Violence through LADYFEST MV. If you are able, we ask that you purchase the regular GA tickets and save the discounted ones for those who might not be able to attend otherwise.
Even though these are some big changes, so much will remain the same. The day will still highlight local musicians, your friends and neighbors are still hosting, and we will still showcase our incredible island artists/merchants.
Will there be public restrooms?
-
For sure! There will be plenty of port-a-potties surrounding the venue.
Will there be parking?
-
Unfortunately, we aren't able to provide parking, but there will be plenty of parking in OB in October. Plus, we encourage everyone to use our beloved public transportation on the island. We love the VTA!
How are you planning to keep festival-goers safe during the festival?
-
We partner with the Oak Bluffs Police Department and Oak Bluffs Fire Department to ensure all festival-goers are safe and able to enjoy the show. We also will have the incredible RITZ security team on hand :)
Are children welcome?
-
Absolutely! We have activities for children, as well as performances by Island Hip Hop! Children under 12 are free :)
